Prunus mahaleb inclinado - Diseño 2
Ha pasado bastante tiempo desde que adquirí parte de este árbol y en todo este tiempo apenas había pensado en su diseño. Ha sido estos últimos meses cuando poco a poco me he ido agachando junto a él, a ver si podía escuchar en qué quería convertirse.
Too much time has passed since I bought this tree and during this time I rarely had though about its design. It has been these last months when I started to see the tree, to imagine how it would to become to be.

PRIMEROS TRABAJOS
Como sabéis al principio estas eran las dos opciones que barajaba, en ninguna de ellas el árbol hijo formaba parte del diseño y esto era porque pensaba en separarlo y hacer un sohin de ahi. Sin embargo al hacer el trasplante ví que la cosa pintaba bastante peor porque apenas tenía raíces con lo que si lo separaba el árbol hijo corría riesgo de irse. Así que lo dejé y este es el material con el que tengo que trabajar.
As you know (if not check it out on the previous links above), at the beginning these were the two options for the design. None of them had a secondary tree (son's tree) as a part of the design, and this is because I wanted to separate them in two parts to obtain a new sohin tree from it. However during the repotting I noticed the son's tree had no roots so the risk to pass away was too high. So I decided to left it and this is the material I have for working.
En estas condiciones hice el siguiente diseño con una copa bastante pequeña que no acababa de convencerme (ver colo negro) y posteriormente tras ver numerosos árboles de algunos catálogos de la kokufu me decidí a ampliar la copa (ver color rojo).
In such conditions I made the following drawing with a small canopy but I was not confident on it (check black color picture below) and after having check a lot of kokufu bonsai books I decided to enlarge the canopy (check red corrections).
Mandé este dibujo al grupo de WhatsApp de la Escuela Sagunt Bonsai para que Marcial le echara un ojo y me pasó muchas indicaciones que me parecieron muy acertadas y a continuación describo.
I sent this drawing to Marcial through the Sagunt Bonsai School WhatsApp group in order he could have a look on it and he gave a lot indication that I considered quite right. The are as follows:
1. Reducir la copa y centrarla un poco más porque se marchaba mucho hacia la derecha. Así pues corregí mi dibujo y esta es lo que me quedó:
1. To reduce the canopy and to center it a bit more because it was too much at the right hand. So I re-draw my design again and this is what I did:
2. Marcial se tomó la molestia de analizar el diseño y me marcó bastantes errores que sin duda mejoran el diseño:
2. Marcial had the courtesy to analize the design and he gave me some mistakes that improved the design without a doubt.
2.1 - Que la sashieda del árbol padre se extienda hasta llegar al árbol hijo
2.1 - The sashieda brand from father's tree should extend to reach son's tree.
2.2 - Quitar ramas en el lado que el tronco hijo da hacia el tronco padre. La parte izquierda del hijo no tiene sentido que crezca a la sombra del padre ya que por ahi las ramas se debilitarían y morirían, por lo que es mejor dejar ahi espacio vacío y que ocupe ese espacio la sashieda del padre (como si llevara de la mano al hijo).
2.2 - To remove branches in the son's tree which faces father's tree. This branches cannot really grow because fathers shadow won't allow to do it so it is better to leave this space free to allow father's sashieda to grow (as a father's hand leading a son)
2.3 Corregir ligeramente el ápice y la forma de la sashieda sería esa. Además no hay que dejar ramas que crezcan de la sashieda hacia el tronco con un primer tercio de la rama sin ramas. La forma tal cual se dibuja abajo.
2.3 To slightly correct the apex and to shape the sashieda as follows (curvy pink line). Besides the first third part of the sashieda must be free of secondary branches.
2.4 En la zona que se marca no se ponen ramas para acentuar el aspecto de árbol viejo
2.4 To leave free of branches in the pink circled area in order to power the old tree feeling.
2.5 Mejorar el movimiento general del árbol hacia la derecha mediante la sashieda. El movimiento del árbol padre lo recoge el hijo y lo saca hacia la derecha de manera que fluya.
2.5 To improve the general movement of the tree through the right side with the sashieda. The father's tree movement must be received by the son's tree whom must continue this general movement to the right. The movement must flow.
2.6 A continuación me modificó mi dibujo con todas las anotaciones anteriores.
2.6 Finally Marcial modified my tree with his corrections
2.7 También me propuso modificar ligeramente la inclinación
2.7 He also proposed to sligthly modify the growing angle.
2.8 Y por último el perfil que más le convenia al árbol, cóncavo a la derecha y convexo a la izquierda.
2.8 At the end but not least the shape which more fits to the tree, convex left hand, concave right hand.

It is hard to believe but how a tree can improve with this amount of improvements, this the true bonsai, not to live with you have but to try to reach the perfection. But the moment it continues being a tree in a pot but with some Pre-Bonsai shaping.
Ahora el árbol se encuentra así y vamos a dejarle brotar para utilizar los brotes bien colocados acorde este proyecto. Estos brotes se dejarán crecer largo para conseguir grosores sobre todo en la sashieda y ápice.
This is the current tree status so let's it grow in order to have good growings according the project. This new buds there will be allowed to have good thickness, specially in the sashieda branch and in the apex.

Yoyoprunus - el taller en la escuela Sagunt Bonsai
Tras la temporada de crecimiento y con el árbol en una maceta algo más manejable me decidí a diseñarlo como bonsai. Sin embargo no tenia mucha idea de por donde tirar... hoy aquí desvelamos su futuro. Pero primero unos enlaces para los despistados....
After the last growing season and with the tree in lighter pot I decided to design it as a bonsai. However I had no much idea which way should I follow... today I will show you its future. But first let's start with some links for losts....

Así quedó el árbol tras el trasplante de 2015. Colocado en la maceta de barro ideal para cultivo.

Y este es el diseño que yo le tenia pensado con el frente que me pareció tener más conicidad y un aspecto más "prunus".
And this is the design I had finally found for him, with my chosen face, the one with the best conicity and more "prunus" shape.
Todo iba sobre ruedas, árbol bien cultivado, en la posición que yo quería y con un diseño o un línea clara. Pero entonces conocí a Marcial y a su escuela Sagunt Bonsai. Marcial rápidamente y sin conocerme me metió en ella (via WhatsApp) y apalabramos un taller para la navidad que es el único momento en el que tenía tiempo. Fue muy amable y me dio muchos consejos, y el resultado del trabajo me gustó bastantes porque, me cambió ideas preconcebidas, tanto de diseño como de cultivo. Además eliminamos el pedrolo me hizo dudar pero antes el árbol esta realmente plano, en términos de ángulo entre sashi-eda (rama principal) y uke-eda (rama de equilibrio), en términos de conicidad también y de unicidad, todo parece encajar mejor que antes. Dejamos el tallado de la madera para otro día y lo terminé en casa tranquilamente, sin profundizar demasiado. Seguro que la andadura no termina ahí, para nada, eso es lo bonito.
Everything was ok, tree well stablished, in its position, as I wanted and with a design to follow. But then I met Marcial with his school Sagunt Bonsai. Marcial quickly and without no time to introduce each other he let me join his school via WhatsApp. Then we arrange a meeting with a workshop for Christmas holiday. He was very kind with me, he gave me some pieces of advices, and the workshop result was quite positive, I liked the result because he achieved to change my mind in pre-stablished concepts that were deeply installed, concepts in design and in growing technics. Besides we remove the big stone, we change the main face, I focused that my former selected face was very plane, without any sense of volume, there were practically 180º between sashi-eda (main branch) and uke-eda (equilibrium branch), but also in terms of conicity and unicity. Every aspect seems to fit better than before. We left the wood carving and I finished at home, without carving too much, only for removing first wood. I am sure the tree is not finish here, at all, and this the cool aspect of bonsai.
Así que nada manos a la obra a enseñar el resultado.

Por último he hecho un espejo de mi diseño y curiosamente se "parece" bastante al diseño de Marcial, con lo cual me alegra mucho más. Poco a poco avanzando. Espero que os haya gustado, ahora a esperar a que brote y por fin a ir dándole aspecto de bonsai.
And finally I have performed a mirror of my design and it looks like Marcial final tree so I am happy because I thing I am learning!. I hope you enjoyed, now let's wait for the developing to give him a better sense of bonsai.
