Yoyoprunus - el taller en la escuela Sagunt Bonsai

Tras la temporada de crecimiento y con el árbol en una maceta algo más manejable me decidí a diseñarlo como bonsai. Sin embargo no tenia mucha idea de por donde tirar... hoy aquí desvelamos su futuro. Pero primero unos enlaces para los despistados....

After the last growing season and with the tree in lighter pot I decided to design it as a bonsai. However I had no much idea which way should I follow... today I will show you its future. But first let's start with some links for losts....

TRASPLANTE

DISEÑO y EVOLUCION

Así quedó el árbol tras el trasplante de 2015. Colocado en la maceta de barro ideal para cultivo.

This is the tree after the repotting of 2015. In its position with a handable pot for a well developing

Y este es el diseño que yo le tenia pensado con el frente que me pareció tener más conicidad y un aspecto más "prunus".

And this is the design I had finally found for him, with my chosen face, the one with the best conicity and more "prunus" shape.

Todo iba sobre ruedas, árbol bien cultivado, en la posición que yo quería y con un diseño o un línea clara. Pero entonces conocí a Marcial y a su escuela Sagunt Bonsai. Marcial rápidamente y sin conocerme me metió en ella (via WhatsApp) y apalabramos un taller para la navidad que es el único momento en el que tenía tiempo. Fue muy amable y me dio muchos consejos, y el resultado del trabajo me gustó bastantes porque, me cambió ideas preconcebidas, tanto de diseño como de cultivo. Además eliminamos el pedrolo me hizo dudar pero antes el árbol esta realmente plano, en términos de ángulo entre sashi-eda (rama principal) y uke-eda (rama de equilibrio), en términos de conicidad también y de unicidad, todo parece encajar mejor que antes. Dejamos el tallado de la madera para otro día y lo terminé en casa tranquilamente, sin profundizar demasiado. Seguro que la andadura no termina ahí, para nada, eso es lo bonito.

Everything was ok, tree well stablished, in its position, as I wanted and with a design to follow. But then I met Marcial with his school Sagunt Bonsai. Marcial quickly and without no time to introduce each other he let me join his school via WhatsApp. Then we arrange a meeting with a workshop for Christmas holiday. He was very kind with me, he gave me some pieces of advices, and the workshop result was quite positive, I liked the result because he achieved to change my mind in pre-stablished concepts that were deeply installed, concepts in design and in growing technics. Besides we remove the big stone, we change the main face, I focused that my former selected face was very plane, without any sense of volume, there were practically 180º between sashi-eda (main branch) and uke-eda (equilibrium branch), but also in terms of conicity and unicity. Every aspect seems to fit better than before. We left the wood carving and I finished at home, without carving too much, only for removing first wood. I am sure the tree is not finish here, at all, and this the cool aspect of bonsai.

Así que nada manos a la obra a enseñar el resultado.

Por último he hecho un espejo de mi diseño y curiosamente se "parece" bastante al diseño de Marcial, con lo cual me alegra mucho más. Poco a poco avanzando. Espero que os haya gustado, ahora a esperar a que brote y por fin a ir dándole aspecto de bonsai.

And finally I have performed a mirror of my design and it looks like Marcial final tree so I am happy because I thing I am learning!.  I hope you enjoyed, now let's wait for the developing to give him a better sense of bonsai.

Año de encinas... capitulo 15 Encina no Bunjin - modelado 2

Hacía tiempo que no publicaba nada respecto de esta encina. Lo paso muy mal tras el trasplante de 2014. Tanto que pensaba que se iba. Es verdad que el trasplante fue bastante agresivo sin embargo era necesario porque en el cepellón había un autentico bloque de cemento. Gracias a la cama caliente y el invernadero pude mantenerla hasta entrado junio. Todavía tengo dudas de si lo hice en la época correcta (es decir me adelante un par de semanas) o si cogió algún tipo de hongo. No suelo desinfectar los suelos en los trasplantes pero desde entonces les doy con previcur preventivo tras el trasplante.

Posteriormente brotó suavemente y no se le tocó nada hasta que el año pasado la pincé porque despuntaba demasiado.

Este año ya me he metido con el modelado para poder pinzar  con objeto de rellenar los pisos de verde.

Some time has passed since my last post about this oak (quercus ilex). During the 2014 repotting the tree suffers a lot. The tree was so bad I though it whould have passed. It is true the repotting was quite agressive because the soil was so compacted that seemed like concrete. Thanks to the greenhouse + the heating bed I could support the tree alive till early june when the heat arrive and the tree started to grow. I still have doubts about if repotted the tree 2 weeks earlier or a kind of funghus attack happened somehow. Since then I use previcur as a preventive agent to avoid funghus attacks.

After the tree started to grow slowly I don't touch it till last summer when I prunned it to stop the growings.

This year I started with the shaping in order to start to prun in summer the tree to fill the canopy with leaves.

Ya tenia ganas de modelar el arbol. Han pasado 4 años desde la recuperación y los errores cometidos por una vez no han acabado con el árbol... Esta vez decidí que la copa tenia que compactarse más y retroceder más hacia el nebari, de otro modo el árbol hubiera parecido un inclinado mas o menos mediocre desde mi punto de vista. La rama principal shashieda tiene mucho carácter y el ápice no puede sino seguir la misma orientación.

 

I was looking forward to shape again the tree. 4 years had passed since the collecting and by once the mistakes that I made did not finish with the tree... This time I decided to compact a bit more the canopy and to drop down to the nebari, otherwise the shape would be as a comon slanting tree with any grace. Principal branch sashieda has a lot of carácter and the appex must follow shahieda direction.

Espino grande: refinado de madera y modelado

Por fin este año he empezado a modelar en serio este espino. Ya son 4 años desde la recuperación y ya se puede decir que de raíces está establecido, en maceta de bonsái. El único problema que tiene que el calor de los veranos le viene muy mal, se le queman las hojas. He probado cobre como me recomendaron y alivia un poco, pero no mucho más. Próxima estación será 100% sombra durante los meses mas calurosos. Os dejo con unos enlaces y la serie de fotografías...

Finally this year I seriously started to shape this hawthorn. It has passed about 4 years from collecting and now I can finally say this tree is stablished, and the most important, now it is in bonsai pot. The only problem I have is that with the extraordinary warm summers the hawthorn suffers a lot, and most of the leaves seems to be burnt. I have test with copper and useful but not the solution. Next summer the tree will go directly to shade in the warmer months. I leave you with some links and the pictures.

 Empezando la primavera de 2014 con unas brotaciones muy buenas y homogéneas.
Next springtime started with a generous and homegeneous budding

Y como siempre al final del año ramas largas para conseguir grosores y la hoja echa una pena del calor.
And as last yar, at the end long branches to achieve thickness and leaves burnt out by the summer.

 

Siempre me gusta podar cortito, es más lento pero el carácter conseguido es muy bueno así.
As always I like to prun the branches very short in order to get as much as conicity as posible. This is the slowest method but the one with which the tree character is achieved.

Y al final de 2014 hubo que meterle mano a los tocones para empezar a formar los callos de cicatrización.
At the end of 2014 it was necessary to carve the deadwood

En la primavera de 2015 el árbol se transplantó y se mantuvo en la cama 15 días. Cuando la brotación fue madurando lo saqué a plena sombra hasta septiembre donde ya pasó el otoño al sol.
In 2015 springtime the tree was repotted and it rest about 15 days in the heating bed. Once the budding was starting to became mature I left the tree completly shaded when it was till autumn.

 Y llegado diciembre de 2015 procedí al modelado y al refinado de la madera, descubriendo sharis de retirada de savia.
Finally december 2015 arrived and I proceed to shape and to finish the deadwood, discovering new sharis.

Y ahora mismo este es el estado. Ya va tomando el aspecto que yo quería, con las ramas más colocaditas, empezando a coger grosor en las bases, la madera trabajada (creo),...

Para esta temporada me planteo empezar con los pinzados arriba para generar densidad, y abajo no tocar más que lo necesario para que alargue y engorde, podando cortito en el momento que lo pida el diseño tal y como me ha recomendado el maestro Frontan (en un prunus, pero lo aplicaré también a esta especie). Y si se da bien en un par de años ni yo mismo lo reconoceré, pero antes tengo que dar solución al tema del quemado de hojas en verano.

And now this is the state, the tree starts to looks like I want, with the branches in its position, starting to have some conicity.... Deadwood finished (I think).

For this growing season I want to start prunning in the ápex in order to gain more branches there, but first branches will stay growing in order to gain more and more thickness an conicity till the shape I want says stop growing and cut now because is necessary (I was recommended by JM Frontan master to proceed this way). If everything goes well in two years the tree will show a very good face, but firstly I have to solve the problema with burned leaves.
